Following a very successful year of trade flows between Spain and the UK, Santander decided to partake in an agreement that will make it easier for companies operating in both countries to open accounts.

With over 38,000 companies directing trade flows between Santander EspaƱa and the UK in 2020, Santander has now made it significantly easier for companies operating in both countries to open accounts.

Santander and the UK Department for International Trade have renewed the agreement they signed in 2017 to further aid businesses in the Spain-UK corridor. The agreement should drive trade between the two countries, promoting investment in the UK and in Spain.

This agreement forms a part of the Spain-UK Corridor initiative that Santander started in 2017, which includes various other services such as the International Desk and Santander One Europe, which help businesses operate in other countries.

Following the implementation of this agreement, Santander aims to see banking processes simplified for foreign entities in Spain and the UK, setting a precedent for faster and more efficient corporate banking in various parts of Europe.
