2020 has been a very successful year for Intesa Sanpaolo as they have been named ‘Bank of the Year in Western Europe’ by The Banker. This year they continued to outperform their competitors and achieved Tier 1 capital of approximately $72.3bn by the end of 2020, further boosting their place in the ranking.
Intesa Sanpaolo proceeded to garner success this year by entering the Top 10 most solid banks in Western Europe, according to the most recent ‘Top 1000 World Banks’ 2021 review published by The Banker. They ranked 8th regionally and 29th globally, an increase from last year when they ranked 15th and 39th respectively.
