Countries
IBOS has coverage of a large number of countries.
These are segmented by region on the basis that this is how customers are likely to view and manage their activity.
The regions covered are:
- Americas
- Western Europe
- Central and Eastern Europe
The aim of the Country Profiles is to provide the necessary degree of detail on banking in these countries to show what sort of banking service is required there.
The Country Profiles for the IBOS website have been compiled at IBOS Central Office and checked by the member for the country concerned.
The part of this site that is open to the public contains a snapshot of these profiles; the full version is available to and through the Members.
The sources used for compiling the profiles were:
- The profiles that were on the retired IBOS website
- The “Blue Book” on Payment Systems in the European Union, issued by the European Central Bank
- Data supplied by the IBOS members in the course of the projects Pan-European Cheque Collection, Remotely-initiated ACH and Enhancement to MT940
- The website of the European Council for Banking Standards
- Jordan’s International Corporate Procedures
- Websites within each country such as the Central Bank, the local Chamber of Commerce and the Finance Ministry, the latter used especially to confirm taxation rates
- Data supplied by Lyddon Consulting Limited
