The IBOS service is brought to clients by its Members, both Full and Limited.
IBOS has Members for this purpose in the countries where major companies are headquartered or have their financial management offices: these are in the main the customers for the IBOS service.
As regards service provision and supporting clients in the role of Account-Holding Bank, IBOS has Member banks in countries where:
- Major companies almost always have significant operations, be they manufacturing, sales&distribution or sourcing
- The country is regularly part of a regional Cash Management scheme
- In-country banking is demanding
- At a minimum the Member has to have a major network within the country, in order to be able to manage the in-country business effectively for the client.
The Member also implements all the IBOS cross-border services.
As stated, there is also a type of Member of IBOS known as a Limited Member. This type of Member acts for the time being only as Host Bank, introducing its clients to other Members and Associates. This may be because the bank is not yet ready to support incoming referrals to the IBOS standard.
