IBOS Member banks are the ones that bring the service to their clients. Most IBOS Member banks also take in referrals from other Members.

However, there is a type of Member of IBOS known as a Limited Member. This type of Member acts for the time being only as Host Bank, introducing its clients to other Members and Associates. This may be because the bank is not yet ready to support incoming referrals to the IBOS standard

Reflecting the numerical difference between the countries in which clients for the IBOS service exist and the much larger number of countries in which those clients have subsidiaries and/or trading relationships, IBOS can provide service in many more countries than just those where it has members.

The extension of capabilities is possible through Associate banks and Additional banks, as described below.

Notwithstanding these qualifications, all IBOS banks provide banking services within the countries they cover, as well as offering the cross-border service that enables the country to become part of a regional Cash Management scheme.

The banks are segmented by membership level within IBOS.

This level corresponds to the degree to which the country concerned can easily be made part of a regional Cash Management scheme.

The membership levels are:

  • Member – liberal environment, major companies almost always have significant operations there, and the country is regularly part of a regional Cash Management scheme
  • Associate – the country may be a smaller one where not all major companies do business, but the country can on occasions be part of a regional Cash Management scheme
  • Additional banks – significant barriers to the country becoming part of a regional Cash Management scheme

The profiles of the banks respond to the Country Profiles and show how the IBOS bank is able to provide the services necessary for the customer to be able to deal with the intricacies and terms of trade prevailing in that country.

The profiles of the banks for the IBOS website have been compiled at IBOS Central Office and checked by the member for the country concerned.
